Twins!

So this was a first for me ,you guys. During this special birth story I got to photograph my first cesarean section in an operating room and my first set of twins being born! What an experience it was, and being able to witness these parents bring two beautiful girls in to this world was absolutely breath taking. I still cant believe that this is my life sometimes. Here is a thank you to the parents that let me share such a magical milestone in life.

It was a little after 10:00 p.m. and they asked mom to come on back to the operating room. Dad and myself had to wait out in the hallway only getting a glimpse of the nurses and doctor scrubbing up every time someone walked by the automated operating doors. I was anxious and nervous. I could not even begin to imagine how mom and dad were feeling. They were about to welcome not only their first child , but their first set of twin girls. "Okay" the nurse said to dad, "come on back". Eeek okay here we go.

We weren't in there maybe 10 minutes and the doctor ask "do you have your camera ready?". Their first beautiful healthy baby girl was peeping out of the doctors hands across the blue draped sheet so mom and dad could get their first glimpse. It was just getting started because here comes baby number 2 looking just as beautiful. To capture a mothers first expression of seeing her baby is irreplaceable, I was in awe. Mom and dad at this point seemed overjoyed with emotion. (During a twin pregnancy most women don't make it to a full 40 week term pregnancy. On average twin babies are a little under weight and taken straight from the operating room to a recovery room to be evaluated.) After about an hour and a half mom and dad were in recovery with both girls happy and healthy!

Now it is just rest and cuddle time for this sweet family (which make for some great photos). The girls are so cute and the parents just can not stop smiling. Thank you again you guys for allowing me to capture this milestone for you! You guys rock! Hope you enjoy the photos.
